  3. Get Moong Dal

Steps to make Cashew Pongal:
  1. Soak both rice and moong dal after wash and drain water and keep aside.
  2. Heat a pressure pan with some oil and ghee,once hot add cashews and roast till brown And then add peppercorns jeera,hing,chillies and curry leaves.Remove half the mixture a to serve on the top and keep aside for serving.
  3. Now add the soaked rice and moong dal.Add 3 times more water 1:3 and some salt and pressure cook till it's done approx 5 whishtles or more if you prefer mashy…once cooked remove from heat and add the remaining mixture of ghee,chillies cashews and curry leaves on top and serve hot with a tomato or coconut chutney or a lemon pickle and papad it's very Healthy and tasty South Indian style khichidi is ready..
